[Mégane II] 1.4 16V dead spot of cold engine+low idle speed

Mer 14 Dec, 2005 00:12
Hi,

I have a Megane Sedan 1.4 16V (K4J) from 6/2005. Now in winter season I have problem with cold motor running. The cold start up is trouble-free, but sometimes I have very strong pause (dead spot) of engine performance for 1 second if I accelerate. The problem is out after 1-2 minutes of driving.

The other problem with engine is start up of tepid engine. If I stop the warm engine and start up it after a half hour the idle speed is below 500 rpm. If I start my driving the engine sometime turn off.

What is possible problem, temperature sensor ?

Hi Petr,

I'm not a specialist but could it be the sparking ?

I have information from my country and also from UK about problems with same symptoms from other people. This problems have 1.4 16V (K4J) engine used in Megane and also Thalia (Clio Saloon). Nobody has no solution from Renault service station.

See my video with low idle:

I have the cold and warm start up correct. See next video:

http://www.volny.cz/kolomaznik/img/megane_14_16V_72kw_start_warm.wmv

The diagnostic shows no errors. Other Megane's owners with 1.4 16V 72kW engines have the same problems. Do you know any solution of problem ?

I think it may be either the spark plugs solenoides which are out of order or perhaps something wrong with the throttle drived by wire which make mistakes
