[Laguna I] Laguna I water pump, 3.0 V6 12V, 1999

Mar 14 Dec, 2010 11:12
Hello

Please is anybody able to help me? I need a water pump for Laguna 3.0 V6 12V 1999, it seems to be impossible to find it in whole world. The construction was finished and it is not available in the warehouses. No replacement exists for this part. The number is 7701468082.

This is how it looks.

Any help will be very appreciated.

(sorry for writing in English!)

Thank you very much. Unfortunatelly, it is not the one I need. It is a different pump, not compatible with the one I need The guys in service had this pump there and it was not possible to use it. I need just original that looks exactly like on my picture...

Sorry but there is something I do not grasp
What is the part number of the water pump you are looking for ?

Except if mistaken, this engine was also used by Peugeot 406 coupe (V6 194CV) and Citroen Xantia .. did you try a Peugeot or Citroen dealer ?
Mar 14 Dec, 2010 19:12
Well, the number is 7701468082, the brand name is DOLZ C133. I did not know the engine was used in Peugeot and Citroen, but, according to my service, I cannot use anything else except the original. I had some effers from Safrane with the same engine, but the part number was different and it could not be used...

Mar 14 Dec, 2010 20:12
I don't really understand why you can't use a Peugeot or Citroën part ....

It's the same motor built in a common joint company between PSA and Renault ...

20 years before i will say you : see Volvo parts or De Lorean or Alpine .... (because the PRV motor was used on many cars...) but now it is common to PSA group and Renault
Mar 14 Dec, 2010 20:12
I really dont know what I can or cannot use. I just know what the guys from the service told me... Maybe the engine was the same, but the things around are a bit different...

Btw, the engine in Peugeot 406 coupe (V6 194CV) is different. Mine is 2963 cc, 123 kW, 167 PS

Strange ...

The water pump is not outside but inside the motor ....

Then it's the same .... perhaps the diameter of the pulley if it's that try to re-use the actual it seems to be dismountable...

Did you try with the brand number DOLZ C133 to the PSA group service ?.

Well, I did not. I even did not thought about it at all

Many awkward elements here
- Wizzard states that the water pump from a Safrane, although with theotically same engine, does not fit
- part number should be 7701468082 but parts "compatible" with this reference do not fit (cf parts from Oscaro.fr)
- SRG2 states the water pump is inside the engine, a statement I agree with... From my standpoint, this pump is drawn by the the timing belt while the picture given by Wizzard give me a real feeling of a water pump drawn by an ancillary device belt
- Wizzard states the car is given for 168PS versus 194 for the L7X on both laguna and Peugeot406coupe while Z7X is given for 168/170

The pulley looks like to be drawn by an ancillary device drive belt, not by a timing belt, isn't it ?

So My provisional conclusion is that we are obviously not speaking about the same car (Laguna 3.0 V6 1999) and/or engine (L7X versus previous Z7X ?)

Is the car really from 1999 ? (Normally Lag1 phase1 Z7X ---> 04/98 pahse2 from 04/98 onwards except may be for some cars with automatic transmission)
Is the car with automatic transmission ?
Is the car sold in the UK with a different engine from the one sold in France ?
Is the engine a L7X or a previous Z7X one ?
Which are the first elements of the VIN VF1abcdefghi ? ir order to get an idea if the engine is L7X or Z7X

Sorry but I am from from Renault and does not own a Lag V6 which explains more questions than answwers, sorry for that

For Z7X have a look to http://www.oscaro.com/pompe-a-eau-renault-laguna-phase-1-..6-1260-22508-1818-gt

Well, first of all, I really appreciate the interest from all of you. So:
- my vehicle service people which know my car well states that the pump from Safrane does not fit, because of different code number, and different car
- also, the people from my vehicle service states that the "compatible" parts does not fit either, including Valeo 506526
- I really do not know the technical details of the engine, if the pump is outside, or inside the engine
- my engine is for sure 12V, 167-170 PS instead of 194 PS (24V)
- not sure about year, but according to the car registration book, it is from 1999. maybe it is the year of the first registration. it is phase I for sure
- I have a manual transmission
- the VIN begins with VF1B56E

For sure the engine is a Z7X, same as on Safrane, Alpine A310, Espace III Peugeot 607, Citroen XM.

But peripheral parts driven by the ancillary device belt can be different.
I'll try to check what references can be used instead of this one.

Thank you very much. I have also some additional pictures of that broken pump.

Also, I was told that my pump is available here http://www.autoteilepilot.de/Katalog/Volltextsuche/7701468082/ but I am not able to register there (do not speak German and it seems it is for the companies in Germany only)

I found something here: http://www.auto2.ru/tcd/renault/3893/10020/10191/
The number is correct, but the brand name different. And it seems that they do not send the goods outside Russia.

Well, according to the pictures, it does not look identical (I dont know if the pictures of mine pump taken by the guys from vehicle service show the whole pump or only a part)

edit: but, now I think that the pictures of my pump displays not whole pump, because there is some hole at the down side without the cover. so it may be the same

Engineering reference is
9440022380 (+ seals: 9605505980 and 7700260108)

It's the same in Z7X 760 Z7X 765 and Z7X 767, if you can find some used parts......

Hope it will help

The Renault database is rather poor about this engine.....
