Merci beaucoup.

Hi. First off all sorry my French.

My car is a Renault Megane II Break 1.5dci from 2007.

What can you tell me about the problems in big end bearing shells on dci motors (Renault, Dacia, Nissan).

Those parts broke early, about 100.000 Km's too 150.000 km's!! In normal conditions as you know this parts live a car life, 400.000 km 's or more. I don't know of wich material this parts are made, can you tell me wich material are made the big end bearing shells from this motors?

In Portugal this is a relevant problem and is being ignored by Portuguese Renault, is it also in France?

Can you guys provide me the the major address of French Renault, adn also the email address?

Many thanks.

Big end bearings

Thanks
We have some engine specialists on the forum. Let's wait for their feedback.

You have this problem on your car ? With how many kilometers ?

Hi. Ok, let's wait.

No, I want to prevent me. I want the Renault through oil analysis discard the premature wear of these parts. Renault makes this analysis who has made revisions always there.

Renault does not want to do this analysis. My car only made revisions in Renault up to 60,000 Km's inclusive. The car has 130,000 Km's. Even if i support the full amount Renault doesn't wanto to do this oil analysis.

Thanks.

did you have the full oil analysis ???

i have a little interest of that thing for datas ..

wouahhh faut que j'arrêtes moi...

There used to be failing bearings in 1,5 dCi in the years 2003 - 2006, but since 2007, it's very reliable after supplier switch.

Even if Renault does not want to do such un analysis, any independent specialist could do it for you.

But checking those kind of analyses on development engines, I can say its quite difficult, as you always find lots of iron or copper, even if any part looks brand new after complete endurance test.

Hi.

I did an oil analysis by myself but it was inconclusive, have a little wear of iron and aluminium. I Need another one to compare.
:pense:

rpm91,

I replied without seeing your post.

The computer system of my Renault engine is still one that is at risk. The warning is there to analyze aquandoda change the "distribution" belt.

Much of what I've read and heard, the problem is the lack of a slot lock the big end bearing. The new Renault that is put on notice these engines also do not have this slot.

I try to realize that analyze the wear of iron and aluminum is normal.
:sifflote: no this engine is not cool (thats why Daimler and others japanese car makers choose it .. ) :pense:

If you worry about your bearing reliability, you can synchronize their replacement with timing belt change and oil drain.

It's not that much expensive to add the bearings set and 1 or 2 working hours in the same time as standard maintenance.

It's better to change for nothing than not to change and break the bearings, even if the best remains not to change and not to break, which is the most probable case

That was also what I thought, but it's out of Renault who think otherwise. The big end beraring not bring such as groove your move can go in a problem where there is not. At this stage I am focusing on the analysis to the oil because the car already has 130,000 Km's and mudeia the timing belt at 100,000 Km's. Always made revisions 15,000 15,000 Km's and use 5W40 Castrol Edge.

Bip ! )

I'm trying to sensitize the Portuguese by French Renault Renault to take this problem if it exists, it is a manufacturing defect. As an example I have another car Renault petrol with 350,000 that was never tweaked the engine!
